2020 to 2021 Artist-in-Residence Application

Thank you for your interest in submitting an application for the Artist-in-Residence Program at Parramatta Artists' Studios 2020 - 2021.

Before you submit your application, please ensure you have downloaded and read the information in the 2020 - 2021 Artist-in-Residence Application Guide available on our website.

Key Dates *

  • Studio tenancies commence 1 August 2020 to 30 June 2021.
  • The closing date for this application is AEST 12 midnight Tuesday, 21 April 2020.
  • Applicants must nominate preferred length and dates of residency, ranging from 1 month minimum to 3 months maximum.

* These dates are subject to change. We are open to receiving alternative time frames for the residency. Please specify in your application if you have a preference for dates outside of this time frame.

How to complete this form

The City of Parramatta Council uses the Smarty Grants online system for its grants management. If you have used Smarty Grants for any other grants program, you can use the same login.


Navigating (moving through) the application form: At the left of every screen is a menu which links directly to every page of the application. Click on any page to jump to that page. You can also click 'next page' or 'previous page' on the top or bottom of each page.

Do not click on the 'back' button in your internet browser as this will remove the work you have just completed.


Completing an application in a group/team: A number of people can work on an application using the same log in details as long as only one person is working at a time.


Saving your draft application and returning later: You can press 'save' at any point and log out. When you log back in, your draft application will be saved and you can start where you left off.


Submitting your application: The submit button is on the final page. You will not be able to submit your application until all the required questions are completed and within any specified word limits.

When you submit your application you will receive an automated e-mail confirming your submission. A PDF copy of your completed application form will be attached. This will be sent to the email you used to register.
